2023 Macau Youth Printmaking Association Annual Exhibition Officially Opens

In order to promote the art of printmaking to young people, the Rui Cunha Foundation and the Macau Youth Printmaking Association (MYPA) have co-organized the “MYPA Annual Exhibition 2023”, which officially opened on 21 March at the Rui Cunha Foundation Gallery. The gallery is located at 749 Avenida da Praia Grande on the Macau peninsula.

The exhibition will run to April 1 and showcase 31 pieces of printmaking artwork.

The Macau Youth Printmaking Association has been established for more than 20 years. Its purpose is to nurture printmaking creative talent and promote the art of printmaking to young people through exhibitions, workshops, school promotions and other activities. The association aims to enhance the understanding of printmaking art by young people in Macau and to discover future Macau talent for printmaking art.

At the opening it was pointed out that, “Print art has played an important role in the history of cultural exchanges between East and West. It is a reproducible art media more conducive to communication than painting.

“The international print industry has always recognized the value of mono prints. Many of the works in this exhibition are mono prints. The works present different appearances and creative expressions. It is hoped that communication can be facilitated, and dialogues can be exchanged among print lovers.”
