The light and sound show “Dazzling Winter” was extended until the 5 February Lantern Festival to complement the fireworks and continue the Chinese New Year festive atmosphere. Since its launch in December 2022, the “Dazzling Winter” has been extremely popular with residents and tourists. By keeping the lighting decoration alive until the Lantern Festival, the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) allowed more time for residents and tourists to visit community areas to take pictures and stimulate economic consumption.
In addition, the third finale of “Peaceful year – Magnificent Macau Fireworks Display” was held during the Lantern Festival while the “Strolling on Almeida Ribeiro” pedestrian zone was opened on 4 and 5 February. Together with a number of major events such as “See Taipa”, “See Coloane”, and “Arraial na Ervanários”, the event continued the festive atmosphere and added economic benefit to the community.
The “See Taipa”, “See Coloane” and “Arraial na Ervanários” activities provided residents and tourists with an augmented reality (AR) interactive check-in and experience. During Chinese New Year, the activities combined with the “Dazzling Winter” light show in the three district areas of Taipa, Coloane and Ervanários, creating a new model of promoting the community economy with “attraction-experience-check-in-consumption.” This injected new vitality into the community with innovative technology and a flashing light experience, adding to the festive atmosphere for residents and tourists during Spring Festival and enhancing playful community exploration.
