MPU wins Macau University Track and Field Championship with 39 medals

The 2022-2023 Macau University Track and Field Championships were held earlier this month, with the Macau Polytechnic University (MPU) team winning 39 medals, ranking first among all universities in Macau. The event was hosted by the Macau Universitarian Sports Association and was co-organized by the Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ).

This year’s championship was held from 3 to 5 March. During the three-day event, various universities in Macau sent teams to participate. The Macau Polytechnic University track and field team achieved outstanding results in more than 20 competitions, winning the championship in the men’s 200m, 400m, 4 x 100m and long jump, as well as the women’s shot put and long jump.

MPU won 12 gold medals, 14 silver medals and 13 bronze medals in this year’s competition, a total of 39 medals. Both the gold medals and total medal tally was the highest among all Macau universities.

Macau Polytechnic University emphasized that the university is committed to cultivating world-class sports professionals, offering physical education courses and actively encouraging students to participate in local and international competitions so that students can accumulate competition experience.

“Over the years, MPU students and alumni have worked hard in sports events around the world and achieved great results, contributing to the cause of sports in Macau.”
