GEG supporting Macau diversification with entertainment programs held at Galaxy Arena

Galaxy Entertainment Group has been actively supporting the Macau SAR Government’s “1+4” adequate diversification development strategy by hosting a variety of entertainment shows and concerts at its world-class entertainment venue, Galaxy Arena.

Touted as the largest indoor arena in Macau, the 16,000-seat Galaxy Arena offers unobstructed views and high-definition broadcasting enabled by advanced technical infrastructure, allowing every guest to enjoy 360-degree views and high-quality surround sound.

As part of its efforts to promote the development of Macau’s culture and entertainment industry, GEG announced in early June a new three-year strategic cooperation agreement between Galaxy Arena and music service TME Live to jointly organize an array of entertainment events at the venue. These will consist of both in-venue and online performances, including top-tier concert tours, music festivals, music ceremonies and more.

“To meet the overall needs of our visitors for a more diverse travel experience, we have been dedicated to introducing a wider range of music and entertainment elements in our integrated resort while striving to create more related facilities as attractions. One of these facilities is the all-new 16,000-seat Galaxy Arena,” said GEG Vice Chairman, Francis Lui.

“We will continue to fully utilize this world-class venue to present more spectacular performances and an endless array of exciting entertainment for both locals and tourists. We are thrilled to collaborate with TME Live, as we firmly believe that this partnership has immense potential in encouraging cultural exchange between Macau and the Mainland, creating synergies, enriching the travel and leisure experiences of Macau residents and tourists, and propelling Macau’s cultural and entertainment industry to new heights.”

Among the events already in the pipeline as part of the partnership include the highly-acclaimed 4th Tencent Music Entertainment Awards (TMEA) ceremony, to be held at Galaxy Arena across two days on 8 and 9 July and featuring a star-studded line-up including Cai Xukun, Jolin Tsai, Paul Wong, Tiger Hu, Young Jack, Show Wesugi, Allen Su, Lala Hsu, Xian Zi, Tia Ray, Nicholas Teo, Jane Zhan, Faye Zhan and Zhou Shen among others. For the first time, the music festival will be held outdoors presenting a music feast to shake the audience continuously for two days.

Apart from the awards ceremony, also set to dazzle local fans is almighty singer and musician Jackson Wang, who will bring his JACKSON WANG MAGIC MAN WORLD TOUR 2023 MACAU to Galaxy Arena for two shows on 15 and 16 July. Since making his debut in Korea in 2014, Wang has won the hearts of music fans around the world with his exceptional talent propelling him to remarkable heights, including a ground-breaking appearance at the Coachella Music Festival as the first-ever Chinese solo artist to grace the main stage.

Rounding out a stellar few months of entertainment at Galaxy Arena, YH Entertainment will hold a family concert on July 22 at which several artists and artist groups will perform. Among those ready to rock in Macau are Wang Yibo, Li Wenhan, Zhou Yixuan, Wang Xi, Cheng Xiao and many others.

While there are plenty of exciting live concerts and events to come over the next few months, Galaxy Arena has already shone brightly in 2023 and celebrated its opening in April by welcoming K-Pop boy group Treasure for the 2023 TREASURE TOUR [HELLO] IN MACAU. The group, which debuted with the single “Boy” in 2020, consists of members Choi Hyun Suk, Jihoon, Yoshi, Junkyu, Yoon Jae Hyuk, Asahi, Doyoung, Haruto, Park Jeong Woo and So Jung Hwan.

In May Galaxy Arena also played host to one of the world’s most popular female K-Pop groups as part of the BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR [BORN PINK] MACAU. Performing across two nights on 20 and 21 May, BLACKPINK showed off their iconic music and dance to more than 20,000 local fans in what was a memorable experience for all.

Continuing the K-Pop theme, in June, Galaxy Areana welcomed Korea’s Super Junior back to Macau for the first time in more than three years. The SUPER JUNIOR Fan Party saw the group’s eight members heat up the atmosphere with vigorous singing and dancing, while fans responded enthusiastically with plenty of screaming throughout.

In addition, in June, Galaxy Arena also welcomed its first performance by a mainland Chinese singer as the first stop on Cai Xukun’s KUN 2023 “MAZE” WORLD TOUR IN MACAU. The show followed Kun’s original concept of “Maze” as the theme, with the performer interacting closely with fans while delivering a visual feast.

In the meantime, the company has also held a series of promotional activities in support of these events, featuring elements such as light shows and gastronomy to enhance the overall atmosphere while promoting Macau’s multi-faceted charms of “tourism +”.

For example, as part of the celebrations for BLACKPINK’s shows, The façade of Galaxy Arena was also lit up in a sea of pink. The Fortune Diamond show at Galaxy Macau also presented a special dazzling light feast. In addition, Galaxy Macau launched a series of food, drink, play and shopping benefits offering fans themed afternoon tea, check-in points and discounts throughout the integrated resort. Among all, special food offers in the lead-up to BLACKPINK’s performances included a “Pink Ink” menu at Cha Bei with hamburgers and cakes colored pink and black, a pink afternoon tea set at Putien and cherry blossom afternoon tea set at Nagomi, and a 10% discount at Broadway Food Street’s restaurants for ticket holders.

To celebrate Kun’s performance and to provide a complete experience for Kun’s fans, Galaxy Macau also provided a series of benefits for eating, drinking, playing and shopping, including multiple support videos playing on screens inside and outside of the venue. This allowed all visiting guests to experience the charm of Cai Xukun together and immerse themselves in the enthusiastic atmosphere of the concert.

Likewise, inspired by the King Gold color loved by Kun’s fans, popular café Cha Bei launched a Gold Sea Feast package featuring healthy and delicious mango colorful bowls, fresh lemon special drinks and delicate and delicious mango cakes. Lukang Town also launched a limited time King Mango Pineapple Milk Ice, using fresh mangoes and pineapples piled up into golden hills, and with Q-bomb taro balls added. And diners can enjoy discounts at Broadway Food Street’s restaurants by presenting their Kun concert ticket.
