DSAL and local enterprise hold campus sessions to promote modern finance

To allow young people to understand the development of the financial industry and to help satisfy the demand for talent as soon as possible, the Macau Labor Affairs Bureau (DSAL) and PricewaterhouseCoopers in Macau organized explanatory session events in four Macau middle schools to share the latest developments of the modern financial industry.

From 3 to 7 July, the Labor Affairs Bureau went to the four schools, namely the Chinese and English sections of Santa Rosa Girls’ College, and the Chinese and English sections of Sacred Heart Canossian College, to hold a talk entitled “Meet PwC, Foresee the Future and Explore Your Future with PwC”. The industry seminar invited senior staff of PricewaterhouseCoopers as keynote speakers.

In the sharing session, students heard updates regarding the prevailing state of the industry, and were encouraged to cultivate interdisciplinary thinking skills, improve communication, and set short-term and long-term career goals early, in addition to learning financial knowledge. A total of 928 high school students attended the four sharing sessions.

The Labor Affairs Bureau stated that it will continue to cooperate with the SAR government as well as enterprises to develop the “1+4” economic diversification development strategy.

A DSAL spokesman said, “The authorities will help young people understand the development trend of Macau’s key industries and the trend of talent required starting from middle school, and strive to cultivate talent for multiple industries.”
