The “2023 GBA Speaker Contest Finals” was successfully held in Macau on 5 August. The final 12 contestants presented impressive speeches to an audience of over 1,000.
Featuring the theme of “Change”, the 2023 edition was hosted by the Macau Speaker Association, with the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau guiding the event. The Contest, which strives to strengthen cultural exchanges within the Greater Bay Area, spread positive energy through speeches, and improved comprehension ability and quality in the GBA.
Mr Victor Lai, from the GBA Speaker Contest, delivered a speech and shared his experience of initially being a contestant, and then becoming an event promoter, bringing positive energy to the contestants and the public.
Ms Kayla Cheong, the Chairman of the Contest, said that this year’s competition marked the largest number of participants, gathering enthusiasts of public speaking in Macau who brought better stories and shared more positive energy to society.
The “2023 GBA Speaker Contest” has eight different competition areas. The contestants have proceeded through layers of selection, with a total of 120 outstanding contestants selected to join the semi-final in Macau. Ultimately six contestants in the open group, including three from the youth group and three contestants from the children’s group, advanced to the finals and presented wonderful and touching speeches to the audience.
