MCYVDA hosts successful “Rainbow Life” series of activities in August

The Macao Community Youth Volunteers Development Association (MCYVDA) organized the 2023 “Rainbow Life” series of activities in late August, with around 40 volunteers lending their time to help the cause. Through the series of activities, MCYVDA strives to enhance how youths understand society and help them establish positive life values.

The 2023 “Rainbow Life” series of activities included workshops featuring themes of “Environmental Protection” and “Cherishing Food”, a food donation event and a session highlighting the meaning of sharing.

The food donation event was held on 20 August and saw five collection points set up in various districts across Macau. Volunteers helped with promotion by distributing flyers and utilizing social media platforms. A total of 335 packages of food were collected during the food donation event. On 26 August, MCYVDA organized a ceremony to transfer the food donations to Peng On Tung Support and Service Center with the aim to promote the public’s awareness of cherished food resources and to provide help to disadvantaged groups.

Participants said they were looking to learn and gain valuable experiences by joining the event, although they expressed some concerns that they would be left disappointed if the event was not successful and they did not collect enough food donation. In the end, participants were satisfied by the generosity of the public’s food donations and the participants said they were deeply moved.

The “Rainbow Life” series of activities is sponsored by the Education and Youth Development Bureau. MCYVDA hopes that youth can establish positive life values through participating these series of activities.
