The 2024 Sands China Macao International 10K is scheduled to take place on 17 March. This year’s event will open for registration on two separate dates, with the 10K race, which has 7,000 places available, open for registration from 9am on Saturday 3 February. The Fun Run, which is approximately 5km in length and has 3,000 places available, is open for registration from 9am on Sunday 4 February. Registration for both events is exclusively through online application.

The race will kick off at the Sai Van Lake Square and wind through landmarks such as Sai Van Bridge, Avenida Dr Sun Yat-Sen and Kun Iam Ecumenical Centre, before finishing inside the Olympic Sport Centre Stadium. Following the success of previous years, “The FUNkiest Costume Award” will continue, this year under the theme of “Magic Run”. Participants in both the 10K and Fun Run are encouraged to embrace the theme with imaginative and energetic attire.

The first Macao International 10K was held in 2021. This year’s race is jointly organized by the Macau Sports Bureau, Sands China and the General Association of Athletics of Macau (AGAM).

Director of the Sports Bureau, Pun Weng Kun, hopes the event will further promote Macao’s sports industry and drive the economic growth of sports tourism and related industries. He acknowledged the support from Sands China, AGAM for their efforts in organizing the event, and government departments and all sectors of society for their support and cooperation.

Dr Wilfred Wong, Vice Chairman of Sands China, stated that Sands China is honored to be one of the organizers of the Macao International 10K race this year. The company plays a crucial role in preparing and promoting the competition, as it remains committed to supporting Macao’s sports development and actively promoting the integration of sports and tourism. It is hoped that the Macao International 10K can mark another success for the city and attract athletes from all over the world, allowing residents and tourists to experience the charm of Macau as a world center of tourism and leisure.
