• Galaxy Macau welcomed legendary Spanish opera singer Plácido Domingo and three rising stars from China and Italy in October.

The “Galaxy Opera Gala with Plácido Domingo and Guests” was held at Galaxy International Convention Center in October.

This world-class opera event, the first of its kind hosted by Galaxy Macau, featured the legendary Spanish opera singer Plácido Domingo, who performed alongside three young musicians from China and Italy, as well as the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra.

During the gala, Domingo delivered several classic opera pieces, showcasing not only his powerful and resonant voice but also his ability to convey the deep emotions of each opera, captivating the audience.

Italian conductor Beatrice Venezi, Italy based Chinese soprano Bingbing Wang and Italian-German mezzo-soprano Anna-Doris Capitelli gave equally compelling performances, leaving the audience in awe.

Domingo shared that he was deeply impressed by the interaction with the audience, the stage design, the atmosphere of the concert and the collaboration with all the performers. He expressed his desire to return to Macau for future performances soon. The concert concluded with a long-standing ovation honoring the legendary 83-year-old singer. Audience members commented that the performance allowed them to feel the power and beauty of music, and they eagerly look forward to more cultural events of this caliber in Macau.
