Sands China celebrated International Women’s Day on 7 March 2025, honoring the vital contributions of women in the workplace, at home and in society. The company’s management team presented female employees with crafted soap flowers as a token of appreciation for their hard work and dedication.
The event, held at The Venetian Macao’s staff restaurant, was organized by Sands China’s EmpowHER team member resource group. The program featured informal talks on women’s issues, aiming to inspire and uplift attendees.
In a video message, Dr Miriam Adelson, co-founder of Las Vegas Sands – Sands China’s parent company – shared insights on career growth for women, urging them to pursue excellence through learning.
Grant Chum, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Sands China Ltd, remarked that of the company’s 27,000 team members, half are women who play vital roles at work and, in many cases, in their families. He noted that the company is committed to fostering a corporate culture of mutual respect and equality, supporting female team members to thrive in diverse roles.
The celebration was livestreamed to the back-of-house areas of The Venetian Macao, The Parisian Macao, The Londoner Macao and Sands Macao. Edited highlights of Dr Adelson’s video message were later shared via the company’s intranet and staff TV screens. Virginia Lam, Executive Vice President and Chief Customer Officer of Sands China, also shared insights on workplace success at the event.
Sands China’s EmpowHER program promotes diversity and inclusion through networking, developmental programs, mentorship and community engagement. The program pairs participants with experienced female mentors who provide guidance to help them navigate career challenges and seize opportunities.
