Recently, at the Restaurant & Bar Design Awards 2025 held in Dubai, UAE, Gourmet Pavilion at Wynn Palace was honored as the Global Category Winner for Lighting, becoming the only winning entry from Macau and bringing further international recognition to the city’s hotel sector.
Reputed as the “Oscars of restaurant design”, the Restaurant & Bar Design Awards – established in 2009 – are recognized as the world’s most influential competition dedicated to the design of dining and bar spaces.
This year’s competition attracted over 1,100 entries from 61 countries and regions, judged by a panel of 40 renowned experts in design and hospitality. Standing out for its exceptional design concept and execution, Gourmet Pavilion once again demonstrated Wynn’s unwavering dedication to aesthetic innovation and quality craftsmanship.
One of the judges, Naim Maadad – Founder and CEO of Gates Hospitality and a leading figure in the UAE’s hospitality industry – praised Gourmet Pavilion for being a “stage-like space with extravagance and richness”.
Located within Wynn Palace, Gourmet Pavilion brings together 18 acclaimed Asian dining brands in a grand marketplace that harmonizes culinary culture with design artistry. The award-winning design was commissioned by Wynn Design and Development and created in collaboration with the international studios David Collins Studio and Lighting Design International.
The space integrates fine craftsmanship from around the world, such as the ornate mosaic arches handcrafted by an Italian family renowned for over a century of mosaic artistry, an imposing chandelier made by Bohemian glassmaking artisans and “The Allsphyr” – a mirrored sculpture by an American contemporary artist whose creative use of light and reflection enhances the venue’s visual impact.
Together, these elements create a captivating interplay of light and design, establishing Gourmet Pavilion as an iconic destination where art, architecture and gastronomy meet.
