On 6 March, Sands China senior management presented ribbon flowers purchased from Macau Special Olympics (MSO) to female team members as a gesture of appreciation, offering the company’s gratitude for their dedication and contributions while supporting community inclusion. On the same day, Sands China’s women-led team member resource group EmpowHER hosted the “EmpowHER Sharing Session” at The Venetian Macao’s Adelson Advanced Education Centre under the theme “Empowering Each Other, Achieving the Extraordinary, Breaking Boundaries” – spotlighting women’s achievements.

Guest speakers at the sharing session were Macau Special Olympics gold medalist Fong Wai Chon, former Macau Special Olympics International Global Messenger Selina Ao Ieong, and DeVonne Iao, Sands China’s Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Resort Marketing.

Fong shared key moments from the early stages of his athletic journey, his mindset in facing both victory and defeat, and how he overcame external labels and misunderstanding. Ieong also spoke about her belief in daring to try, the pivotal turning points that led her onto the international stage and her experience promoting MSO through school outreach. Iao emphasized how selflessly sharing knowledge can empower both teams and individuals, and how global perspectives can help strengthen female participation in the workplace.

In addition, EmpowHER hosted a “Love • Understanding • Together • Family Workplace Experience Day” on International Women’s Day, inviting team members’ children to visit their parents’ workplace and create small floral gifts together as a tribute to mothers.

“International Women’s Day is a special occasion to celebrate the strength and achievements of women, and we take this opportunity to express our sincerest gratitude to every female employee,” said Grant Chum, CEO and Executive Director of Sands China Ltd.
