Pirates, Mermaids and More Make a Splash at Britcham’s “Seven Seas Ball”

The British Chamber of Commerce has pulled off yet another extravagant, fun-filled celebration, with its “Seven Seas Ball” held on 20 June at StarWorld Hotel.

The annual event welcomed over 180 guests, dressed in an array of ocean and naval-themed costumes ranging from Popeye to the Titanic, jellyfish, mermaids and pirates of all types, captains, sharks and even a sea turtle.

With a series of events throughout the evening, including a costume competition and lucky draw, the event raised over MOP80,000, with 50% of the proceeds going towards the groups chamber’s CSR endeavors.

Aside from the festivities, the event had a special performance from the Macau-based duo the Gabion Sisters, framed by other musical and dance numbers, with the main act a special Rob Stewart tribute band from the UK – Some Guys Have All the Luck  – bringing the authentic British spirit and rocking the crowd with classic hits.

The event was made possible by the special sponsorship of Jewel in the Crown sponsors Galaxy Entertainment, Diamond Crown sponsors Lord Stow’s Bakery, accommodation sponsors Artyzen Grand Lapa Macau, Ruby Crown sponsors BNU, JEC, Light & Wonder, Melco, MGM, Sands China, SJM and Ton Lei, along with Sapphire Crown sponsors MSS Recruitment and MAO Architects.

The annual event is one of the highlights of Britcham’s annual event calendar, with a special theme every year bringing out the creative and fun-loving spirit of Macau’s diverse community.
