Sands China supports Macau’s “Leisure Bus: Exploring the Community” initiative

  • Sands China is supporting the Macao SAR Government’s “Leisure Bus: Exploring the Community” initiative.
  • The initiative is aimed at promoting community economic growth and helping SMEs in local community areas attract customers.

Working in collaboration with multiple government departments, Sands China aims to leverage Macau’s strengths in cultural and tourism resources in support of the government’s measures to promote community economic development.

Building upon the shuttle bus services provided by integrated tourism and leisure enterprises, the government initiative’s current trial run is introducing new routes featuring community drop-off points covering Cotai to the Northern District, the ZAPE Area, Rua dos Ervanários in the Central and Southern Districts, the Barra District and other areas — making it convenient for visitors to explore the Macau community.

Dr Wilfred Wong, Executive Vice Chairman of Sands China Ltd, said, “Sands China has long been committed to supporting the Macao SAR Government’s directives on moderate economic diversification through a wide range of initiatives to revive the community economy.

“All integrated tourism and leisure enterprises in Macau are supporting this new initiative by making use of our resources to help conveniently transport visitors to the local community. This collective support is designed to foster synergy between Macau’s leisure and tourism sectors and the community economy, together contributing to the city’s sustainable economic development.”
