- Britcham Macao visited Jiangmen as its third Greater Bay Area stop, linking regional industry and heritage with Macau’s future.
- Members toured CIMC, Bestway, Deren and Friendship New Materials, plus the wetlands, Wuyi Museum, Xinhui Chenpi and Lee Kum Kee.
As Britcham Macao continues its journey across the Greater Bay Area 9+2 cities, Jiangmen emerged as a compelling third stop – a place where members could see how regional industries and traditions intersect in ways relevant to Macau’s future.
Led by Chairlady Eileen Stow and arranged by the Chamber’s GBA Committee under Saj Fernando, the two-day visit offered members a close look at a city where longstanding heritage and a strong industrial base continue to shape its role in the region.

Members engaged with enterprises across a wide spectrum of industries. Modular Building System (CIMC) demonstrated the scale of China’s modular construction capabilities, Heshan Bestway Leather Product showcased the craftsmanship and environmental standards behind its leather production and Heshan Deren Electronic Technology highlighted strengths in consumer electronics. Guangdong Friendship New Materials Technology added another dimension, showing how research into new materials is being translated into commercial applications. These encounters offered practical insight into supply-chain possibilities that support diversification.
Members also observed the water-treatment facilities and the wetlands integrated into both the leather factory and Lee Kum Kee’s site. These features highlighted Jiangmen’s efforts to pair industrial activity with environmental responsibility, a point that resonated strongly with the delegation.

Jiangmen’s cultural depth added another layer of learning. At the Wuyi Overseas Chinese Museum, members traced the stories of generations who left Jiangmen to build lives around the world. In Xinhui, the group explored Chenpi traditions through a hands-on tea-making activity and a tasting of tangerine-peel dishes.
Britcham Macao expresses its appreciation to the Jiangmen authorities for their support throughout the visit, including the Jiangmen Bureau of Commerce, the Heshan Science, Industry and Commerce Bureau, and the Hecheng Town Government. The Jiangmen stop added a meaningful chapter to the Chamber’s GBA learning journey.
