General Union of Neighbourhood Associations of Macau

General Union of Neighbourhood Associations of Macau (UGAMM) was established on 30 December 1983 to unite the force of various neighbourhood associations. Its objective is to defend the rights of Macau residents and build a harmonious society for Macau. The association promotes the belief of “good neighbourhood, mutual assistance, and care for the community”. Over the years the association has developed in scale and expanded its service network offering diversified services for the community and families in Macau including the elderly, young people and children.
Its services range from medical care to basic education and it runs four district offices, 28 grassroots workshops and more than 30 service branches. It operates two schools, three nurseries, three clinics, several student study rooms and over 30 different types of service centers. To offer the mentioned services for their 40,000 members, the association employs close to 900 staff.
