In a continued effort to support youth talent development, Melco Resorts & Entertainment hosted the “Macao Orchestra Meet the Musicians” event in late April, offering local youth and community members a unique opportunity to engage with professional musicians and gain inspiration from the world of classical performance.
The event featured prominent members of the Macao Orchestra, including Assistant Conductor Mr Tony Cheng-Te Yeh, Principal Timpani Mr David Burns and percussionists Ms Chang Hio Man and Ms Fung Chan Chi Wai. They shared personal experiences and insights with attendees, fostering an environment of encouragement and discovery.
Participants included students and teachers from the Macao Percussion Association, Modern Player Music Promotion Association, Centro Comunitário Tamagnini Barbosa da Federação das Associações dos Operários de Macau and Macao Conservatory. Melco’s parent-and-child volunteers also attended, many of whom are aspiring young musicians.
This initiative forms part of Melco’s broader commitment to community engagement and the development of future talent. By connecting youth with established professionals, the company aims to inspire the next generation and support Macau’s cultural and creative industries.
Clarence Chung, Director of Melco Resorts & Entertainment, expressed his pleasure at the continued collaboration with the Macao Orchestra in presenting the “Meet the Musicians” event. He noted that the initiative reflects Melco’s efforts to enhance Macau’s position as a global hub for performing arts while also demonstrating the company’s commitment to nurturing youth talent in the arts as part of the city’s sustainable development.
The event forms part of Melco’s ongoing series of talent development programs dedicated to enriching the cultural landscape of Macau through youth-focused arts and innovation opportunities.
