- The Macao Community Youth Volunteers Development Association is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2005.
- The association is launching a series of activities related to physical and mental health.
The Macao Community Youth Volunteers Development Association (MCYVDA), established in 2005, is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.
In order to celebrate this milestone, the association organized the “20 Years of MCYVDA – Love Brings Together Exchange Meeting” and invited more than 60 guests from all social sectors to attend the event and witness the important moment.
At the event, Chan Hong Wa, President of the MCYVDA, pointed out that since its establishment, the association has upheld the spirit of loving the country and Macau as its core, and has been committed to serving the community, uniting young people and promoting community development.
“In the future, the association will continue to fulfil its mission as a platform for youth volunteers by organizing diversified, high-quality and highly recognized activities,” he said.
Chan also disclosed that with the 20th anniversary of the MCYVDA, a series of activities related to physical and mental health will be launched to help young people relieve their daily stress and enhance their mental resilience so as to build up a positive mindset.
Tang Man Kei, Vice Chairman of the General Union of Neighbourhood Associations of Macao and Director of the Youth Affairs Committee, expressed his recognition and support for MCYVDA’s development over the past 20 years.
“From community services to youth training, from cultural exchanges to innovative practices, we have witnessed the organization of various types of volunteer activities and the growth of countless young people, fully utilizing our role as a platform for youth services,” he explained.
Tang encouraged the MCYVDA to mark the 20th anniversary as a new starting point and continue to take the direction of uniting the strength of young people and serving society as the way forward, therefore nurturing more outstanding talent with international vision and nationalistic sentiments.
