Melco Resorts & Entertainment underscored its ongoing commitment to fostering local talent with a special “Macao Orchestra Meet the Musicians” event at Studio City on 28 June, focused on string instruments.

The interactive session featured a distinguished lineup from the Macao Orchestra, including Tony Cheng-Te Yeh, Assistant Conductor; Wang Yue, First Violin; Cao Hui, Second Violin; Li Yueying, Viola; Yan Feng, Cello; and Tibor Tóth, Principal Double Bass.

Attendees included students from The School of Music of Macao Conservatory and Academia de Música São Pio X, local community members and parent-child volunteers from Melco. Orchestra members introduced the audience to the nuances of string chamber music, delving into the unique qualities of each instrument and their repertoire.

Yeh enriched the session by sharing personal anecdotes and offering performance insights, sparking curiosity and inspiration among young participants.

Clarence Chung, Melco Board Director, expressed gratitude for the collaboration, saying “We are thankful to work with the Macao Orchestra’s professional members once again in the latest strings focused session of the ‘Meet the Musicians’ event. In support of the SAR government’s ‘1+4’ development strategy for the adequate diversification of the economy, we continue to be devoted to enhancing Macau’s status as a ‘City of Performing Arts’ as we contribute towards youth talent development for the city’s healthy and continued growth.”

Participants, such as Academia de Música São Pio X student Wong Hou Cheng, welcomed the opportunity to engage with master musicians, while Melco volunteer member Eva Chao, attending with her child, praised the event for inspiring the next generation.

The initiative is part of Melco’s broader drive to cultivate local youth by connecting them with world-class artistic mentors, supporting the city’s cultural and creative future.
