The internationally renowned exhibition “Horst: Photographer of Style” opened its doors at City of Dreams Macau on 2 July, marking a major cultural moment for the city.

Co-hosted by City of Dreams and the Victoria and Albert Museum London (V&A), the exhibition showcases legendary photographer Horst P. Horst’s six-decade career and underscores Melco Resorts & Entertainment’s commitment to global arts dialogue and cultural enrichment in the Macao SAR.

The opening ceremony was attended by Tim Kelly, Property President of City of Dreams Macau, and Duncan Forbes, Head of Photography at the V&A, alongside a distinguished audience from the arts, fashion and media sectors.

Kelly highlighted the resort’s mission to “inspire, connect and enrich lives”, describing the exhibition as a “key step in our vision to integrate art into everyday life.”

He emphasized the fusion of Macau’s local culture with international artistic perspectives, positioning City of Dreams as a unique cultural landmark.

Forbes described Horst’s work as “timeless elegance – a celebration of beauty, poise and artistic precision.” He noted that City of Dreams’ unique blend of fashion, design and art provides the perfect setting to debut Horst’s masterpieces to a new audience in Macau.

Horst, regarded as one of the 20th Century’s most influential fashion photographers, was known for his masterful use of light, composition and the interplay of drama and artistry. The exhibition is divided into five core themes – Haute Couture, Surrealism, Fashion in Colour, Living in Style, and Stage and Screen – presenting everything from Parisian haute couture to bold surrealist images and vivid celebrity portraits.

A special section, “Tribute to Horst”, highlights the work of five leading Chinese photographers, reflecting on three decades of fashion photography in China and offering a dynamic East-West artistic dialogue.
