SJM contributes to Macau’s development as a “City of Sports” via multiple “Tourism + Sports” initiatives 

  • From October to December, SJM supported several major local events as part of its commitment to the Macau government’s “Tourism + Sports” initiative.

From October to December 2025, SJM Resorts, S.A. (SJM) embraced the Macao SAR Government’s “Tourism + Sports” policy by supporting a number of major events and contributing to the city’s development as a “City of Sports”. It also organized initiatives to promote patriotic spirit and community charity, further expanding its non-gaming elements and fulfilling its commitment to Macau’s diversified development.

SJM has long supported major sporting events in Macau and continues to bring the spirit of sports into the community through a diverse range of engagement initiatives.

The community golf fun day of SJM Macao Open 2025 at Ponte 16 Outdoor Plaza, Macau, on 12 October 2025

The torch relay for the 15th National Games Macau Competition Zone, themed “Cultural Integration”, was held on the Macau Peninsula in early November. SJM took part in the event, with Managing Director Daisy Ho as one of the torchbearers. Over 100 team members, together with local residents and visitors, cheered along the route to show their full support for the National Games.

The “SJM 2025 National Sports Games Promotion – Inclusive Sports Experience Day”, title sponsored by SJM and organized by the Macau Special Olympics (MSO), was also held. Over 30 SJM team members joined as volunteers to assist with setup and operations while engaging with MSO members in various sports activities, attracting over 100 participants and promoting the inclusivity message across the community.

The SJM Macao Open 2025, as one of the major sports events for the year, featured some of golf’s biggest names, regional stars and rising young talent. Taking place at the scenic Macau Golf & Country Club, the tournament was jointly organized by the Sports Bureau of the Macao SAR Government (MSB), IMG and title sponsor SJM, and co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour and Macau Golf Association.

SJM organized initiatives to promote patriotic spirit and community charity, further expanding its non-gaming elements and fulfilling its commitment to Macau’s diversified development.

As a prelude to the SJM Macao Open 2025, SJM held the “SJM Macao Open 2025 Community Golf Fun Day” at the Ponte 16 Outdoor Plaza. The event featured top players from the tournament, whose expert guidance and interactive activities introduced the sport to the community and enhanced public interest in the golf.

At the same time, SJM hosted the “School Golf Discovery Day” and “Golf Clinic” at the Macau Golf and Country Club. With inspiration and guidance from professional golfers, these activities allowed students and young people to experience golf and deepen their appreciation for the sport, enhancing their engagement in Macau’s vibrant sports scene.  Approximately 100 primary and secondary students from various local schools participated in the two-day event.

SJM supported the 72nd Macau Grand Prix as a major sponsor as well as being title sponsor of SJM Theodore PREMA Racing. As such, the company organized a series of “A Racing Legacy” community events aimed at bringing the excitement of the racetrack to the local community and inspiring the passion for motorsport among Macau’s youth.

The 2025 CTA Tour SJM Professional Finals (Macau) and National Tennis Championships (“CTA Tour”), took place at the Macau Tennis Academy. China’s top tennis players gathered in Macau to contend for the title. During the CTA Tour, SJM, in its fifth consecutive year as title sponsor, organized meaningful community extension programs – “Dialogues with Outstanding Athletes” and “Tennis for All – Macau Special Olympics Interaction Camp”. Leveraging tennis as a platform for youth engagement and social inclusion, the activities further broadened the social impact of this major sporting event.

Additionally, title sponsored by SJM and organized by the Macau Special Olympics, the “2025 SJM Special Olympics Tennis Fun Day” was recently held. The event brought together over 50 participants from various schools and organizations to enjoy the fun of tennis.

Nurturing Patriotism
SJM hosted a reception to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China on 9 October at The Grand Pavilion of Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau. The Directors and senior managements of SJM, along with more than 2,000 team members, participated in the celebratory reception, joining together to promote the spirit of “Love the Motherland, Love Macau”. Highlights from the reception were also screened in staff areas across SJM’s properties, allowing team members unable to attend in person to share in the fervent celebratory atmosphere.

To demonstrate SJM’s full support for the 15th National Games, over 100 SJM team members participated alongside local residents and visitors in cheering along the torch relay route, as the city prepared for the Games.

SJM aimed to guide the youth of Macau in cultivating an appreciation for peace and a sense of responsibility to maintain it. SJM organized a visit to the themed exhibition titled “For National Liberation and World Peace – Exhibition of the 80th Anniversary of the Victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.” This event was attended by over 80 management trainees and students participating in SJM’s “Forge My Own Journey” Development Program at the Complex of Commerce and Trade Cooperation Platform for China and Portuguese-speaking Countries.

Through thematic courses, field studies, and educational activities, SJM aimed to help team members deepen their understanding of development trends across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and strengthen their sense of patriotism. This year, the Company organized four tours with its “My Motherland GBA Tour” series. Building on the success of the first three visits to Zhuhai and Shenzhen in March, June and July, the fourth event of an academic trip to Shenzhen took place on 5 December, bringing together nearly 50 participants to explore and understand national conditions, and interactive with youth in the region.

Charity and Community Events
To celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, SJM hosted community-focused events aimed at sharing warmth and strengthening its corporate culture of supporting others. The highlight of these efforts was the “SJM Spreading Warmth Mid-Autumn Outreach Program”. Approximately 70 SJM volunteers visited 950 needy families to deliver Mid-Autumn mooncakes and festive greetings, benefiting over 2,800 individuals.

SJM was honored with the “Highest Number of Donors – Group Award” and the “Outstanding Blood Donation Promotion Award” at the Annual Blood Donation Award Ceremony 2025, organized by the Macau Health Bureau. This award acknowledged SJM’s commitment to actively promoting and participating in blood donation activities.

SJM also reiterated its commitment to public welfare, having consistently supported the “Caritas Macau Charity Bazaar” for many years. This year, SJM continued its tradition by donating MOP200,000 to Caritas Macau. Additionally, on 1 to 2 November, SJM organized a volunteer team of nearly 90 participations to set up a charity booth at the Nautical Centre at Nam Van Lake. All proceeds from this event were donated to Caritas Macau to support its various services, helping to build a harmonious and caring community.

SJM donated MOP700,000 to support the 42nd “Walk for a Million”, also organized over 3,000 staff members and their family and friends to participate in the charity walk event. Daisy Ho, Managing Director of SJM, and senior management of the company, walked alongside the team, united in heart for this charitable initiative.

SJM continues its longstanding commitment to public welfare by actively supporting charitable initiatives in Macau. This year, SJM donated MOP700,000 to Tung Sin Tong’s annual fundraising campaign, joining hands with the organization to demonstrate support and promote care and positivity within the community.
