- MGM hosts “Seizing Business Opportunities in Cooperation Zone” business matching session.
- The event seeks to foster deeper exchanges and collaboration between Macau and Hengqin enterprises, and further supporting Macau’s economic diversification.
MGM hosted the “Cooperation Zone Visit and Business Matching Session” in late April as part of its ongoing 2025 SME Cooperation Program, “Seizing Business Opportunities in the Cooperation Zone.” Organized in collaboration with the Guangdong Office of the Macao Chamber of Commerce and supported by the Economic Development Bureau of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone, the event aims to foster deeper collaboration between enterprises in Hengqin and Macau, reinforcing the unique “Macau + Hengqin” model of regional integration.
Connecting SMEs across borders
Building on the momentum of last year’s sessions, this year’s event brought together over 20 department heads from MGM for one-on-one business matching meetings with Macau-owned SMEs operating in Hengqin and the Greater Bay Area. The sessions were designed to identify synergies, expand procurement networks and create business opportunities through direct engagement.

A highlight of the event was the signing of a procurement intent agreement between MGM and Uni-Win, a Macau-based company first introduced through last year’s program. Under the agreement, MGM will source halal-certified plant-based meat products from Uni-Win’s “OLACARNE” brand. These products will be offered as part of MGM’s “Green Monday” initiative in employee and guest dining venues, supporting healthy, sustainable consumption.
The agreement was signed by Simon Leong, Assistant Vice President of Purchasing at MGM, and Marco Li, founder of Uni-Win. The ceremony was witnessed by key stakeholders, including Xie Yingjun, Deputy Director of the Economic Development Bureau of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone; Kenneth Feng, President and Executive Director of MGM China Holdings Limited; and Kevin Ho, Vice President of the Macao Chamber of Commerce and Deputy Director of the Working Committee for the Participation in the Construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
Strengthening economic ties through site visits
On the same day, MGM’s management team visited three Macau-rooted companies now operating in Hengqin: Wellwin Technology Limited, specializing in robotics and low-altitude economy solutions; ChaZence, a youth-led startup converting tea waste into eco-friendly materials; and BoardWare Intelligence Technology, recognized as a “Key Technology Enterprise” by the Macau SAR Government. These visits allowed MGM executives to gain insights into each company’s growth in the Cooperation Zone and their contributions to environmental innovation and tech advancement.

Kenneth Feng noted that since launching the “Seizing Business Opportunities in the Cooperation Zone” SME Cooperation Program last year, the company has utilized its integrated resort supply chain and industry expertise to generate more business opportunities for Macau-based SMEs, including those operating in the Cooperation Zone. He emphasized that this year’s business matching session and vendor visits reflect MGM’s continued determination and commitment to strengthening collaboration between Hengqin and Macau.
Kevin Ho added the integration of Hengqin and Macau serves as a strategic platform for enterprises to explore new opportunities. He stated that the business matching session not only enhanced collaboration between Hengqin and Macau businesses but also showcased the policy advantages and economic potential of the Cooperation Zone. He expressed optimism for ongoing cooperation with MGM in delivering future initiatives that promote the synergistic development of Hengqin, Macau and the wider Greater Bay Area.
According to MGM, this initiative forms part of its long-term strategy to empower local enterprises and strengthen Macau’s role in the Greater Bay Area’s economic ecosystem. By connecting businesses across borders, MGM continues to demonstrate its commitment to inclusive regional development and sustainable business partnerships.
