SJM Resorts, S.A. is taking part in the third edition of Portuguese Cuisine Gastronomy Tour “Comer e Beber à Portuguesa”, with contemporary Portuguese restaurant Mesa by José Avillez at Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau presenting a limited-time menu in June.

The company is inviting guests to a unique culinary experience that highlights the blend of cuisine, history and culture and celebrates Macau’s important role in Sino-Portuguese cooperation.

Head Chef Herlander Fernandes will present a seven-course tasting menu at Mesa by José Avillez, reflecting renowned Portuguese chef José Avillez’s “Casual Fine Dining” ethos.

The menu includes innovative takes on Portuguese classics such as Crispy Codfish Balls, Beef Croquettes with Truffled and Mustard Emulsion, Seafood Rice with Caviar, Crispy Suckling Pig with Baby Jam Lettuce and Orange Cream, and Abade de Priscos with Raspberry Sorbet and Pinhoada. Three glasses of Portuguese fine wine complement the meal, including the 2017 Chryseia from Prats & Symington.
The “JUNE – Month of Portugal in Macau” is in recognition of the Day of Portugal on 10 June, which is formally known as the Day of Portugal, of Camões and the Portuguese Communities (Dia de Portugal, de Camões e das Comunidades Portuguesas).
It is organized by the Consulate General of Portugal in Macau and Hong Kong, Portuguese Agency for Foreign Investment and Commerce, Casa de Portugal in Macau, Oriental Foundation and Instituto Português do Oriente.
