To foster a sense of national pride and patriotism among its collegues, Melco Resorts & Entertainment organized a visit for numerous employees on 25 August to the exhibition “For National Liberation and World Peace – Commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War”, hosted by the Macao SAR Government.
The exhibition runs from 25 August to 24 September at the China-Portuguese Speaking Countries Business Cooperation Service Platform Complex and has received support from the Museum of the War of the Chinese People’s Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.
This visit forms part of Melco’s “Splendors of China” national education program, which aims to cultivate employees’ national pride and patriotic spirit through educational activities. Melco said it anticipates arranging multiple visits for approximately 200 employees during the exhibition period, encouraging participation alongside their children through its “Teaching Children Values” initiative, and thereby passing on this precious history and patriotic spirit to the next generation.
Through rare historical photographs and footage, the exhibition comprehensively chronicles the 14-year War of Resistance from 1931 to 1945, highlighting the Chinese peoples’ heroic struggle and the profound significance of their ultimate victory. Concurrently, the exhibition details how various sectors of Macau society supported the motherland during the War of Resistance through fundraising, refugee relief and other means, demonstrating the profound bond of solidarity and shared destiny between Macau compatriots and the entire Chinese nation.
After attending the exhibition, Chin Lee, Vice President, Global IT Engagement, said, “The visit has helped deepen my sense of national identity, belonging and pride as a Chinese.
“It encourages an appreciation for the values of peace and patriotism, and I found it particularly interesting to learn about Macau’s role in the war through local historical resources, underscoring our city’s indivisible bond with the motherland.”
