Since 2018, MGM and Fuhong Society of Macau have collaborated annually around World Mental Health Day – held on 10 October each year – organizing diverse activities centered on sports, rehabilitation, culture and the arts to advocate for mental wellbeing.

This year marks the seventh year of their collaboration, featuring a series of activities.
The 2025 collaboration between MGM and Fuhong Society of Macau took place on 18 October and comprised innovative initiatives aimed at enhancing public understanding of mental health while dispelling stigma and misconceptions.

It also looked to improve societal understanding of individuals undergoing mental recovery, promote vocational training services and foster social inclusion. During preparations, members from both organizations jointly participated in the production of Portuguese-style orange cakes, with renowned Gastronomia Macaense chef Antonieta Manhão serving as technical consultant to provide professional guidance and expertise.
The event drew participation from 24 schools, community groups and enterprises, with approximately 300 individuals gathering to create a large-scale Portuguese Orange Roll. Individuals in mental recovery collaborated with the public to assemble 300 orange roll into a food artwork blending lion dance motifs with mindfulness elements. Workshops on emotional management and stress adaptation were also held to enhance participants’ self-awareness.

The combined culinary teams from both organizations prepared over 2,000 orange rolls. Staff from the Fuhong Society of Macau personally delivered these to several schools and hosted mental health awareness lectures, introducing teachers and students to the lives and capabilities of individuals in mental recovery, thereby further dispelling misunderstandings and prejudices.
Following the event, MGM’s culinary team instructed students from Fuhong Society’s “Corner of Portuguese Cuisine” training restaurant in orange roll preparation, subsequently incorporating the dish into the restaurant’s menu. This initiative aimed to promote the concept of inclusion through gastronomy while developing the trainees’ skills.
