Lady Chairman Eileen Stow and Vice Chairlady Maggie Chan led a delegation of Britcham Macao members to Zhaoqing on 17 to 18 October, marking the Chamber’s second Greater Bay Area (GBA) city visit following its earlier program in Huizhou.

The tour was designed to broaden members’ perspectives on Zhaoqing’s industrial clusters and investment prospects. As the largest city in the GBA by land area, Zhaoqing is recognized for its ecological significance, with forest coverage reaching nearly 70%. Its location along the Xi River, supported by strong transport links, underpins the city’s ambition for sustainable growth and international engagement.
Over two days, the delegation explored a range of enterprises across high‑end electronic information, advanced equipment manufacturing, aluminum product development and the electric‑vehicle sector. These visits offered valuable insight into how Zhaoqing is positioning itself as a hub for innovation and industrial transformation.

The group was welcomed by Zong Yafeng, Deputy Secretary‑General of the Zhaoqing Municipal People’s Government. She introduced the delegation to the city’s celebrated local cuisine and provided thoughtful assistance throughout the program. A networking dinner further enabled Britcham Macao members to connect with local SMEs, fostering dialogue and potential collaboration.

Participants highlighted the city’s openness and dynamism, noting the strong representation of women leaders in both government and industry. The experience reinforced Zhaoqing’s role as a forward‑looking partner within the GBA and offered Britcham Macao members practical perspectives on regional development.
Britcham Macao said it looks forward to its third immersive visit to the Greater Bay Area, with the hope that all participants will take away meaningful insights and connections from this joint learning journey.
