Ethnic Culture Exhibition of Northwest China opens at Bank of China Macau

  • The Association for the Promotion of Chinese Ethnic Unity has launched an exhibition aiming to help residents learn more about Northwest China.
  • The exhibition combines photographs with everyday items featuring ethnic characteristic, highlighting the daily customs and cultural creativity of various ethnic groups in Northwest China.

Organized by the Association for the Promotion of Chinese Ethnic Unity, the exhibition “Forging a Strong Sense of the Chinese National Community – Ethnic Culture and Customs of Northwest China” is now on display in the first-floor lobby of the Bank of China Macau, running until 10 February. The exhibition aims to help residents learn more about the region’s geographical characteristics, traditional ways of life and the wisdom of its ethnic groups.

The event is sponsored by the Cultural Development Fund, with supporting organizations including Bank of China Macau and Creation Advertising Co, Ltd.  According to the organizer, Northwest China has historically been a region where multiple ethnic groups live together, where cultures intersect and where religions coexist. Through interwoven settlement patterns, cultural inclusiveness, economic interdependence and close emotional ties, the region has contributed to a Chinese national landscape marked by diversity and unity.

Presented in a concise format, the exhibition combines photographs with everyday items featuring ethnic characteristics. It highlights the daily customs and cultural creativity of various ethnic groups in Northwest China, while tracing the historical pathways of exchange and integration among different communities, showcasing the vitality and deep foundations of the Chinese national community as it continues to grow and develop.

In addition, the exhibition introduces Northwest China’s connections with the ancient Silk Road and the region’s current transition into a new era driven by science and technology.

We hope that while conducting their business, visitors can also engage in learning to strengthen the sense of community among all Chinese ethnic groups.”
