Sands China creates Grand Prix Fun Zone
Aligning with the concept of “Sports + Tourism” integration, Sands China established the “Grand Prix Fun Zone” in the area outside of The Venetian Theatre from 8 to 16 November. This racing-themed zone blended entertainment with family experiences, attracting enthusiastic participation from residents and visitors alike. The zone featured racing simulators, remote control cars on a Guia Circuit track and the opportunity for visitors to design and paint their own model race cars at a creative workshop. Admission was free throughout the event, with a large screen broadcasting live race action, allowing spectators to experience the thrill of speed. Statistics indicate the event drew over 3,000 visitors, sustaining the Grand Prix’s momentum through interactive games and becoming a popular place for residents and tourists to take pictures.

Since its establishment in 2004, Sands China has actively introduced diverse cultural tourism and sporting events.

Partnering with social service organizations to promote charity and sports integration
Beyond entertainment, Sands China said it places significant emphasis on community engagement and charitable initiatives. During the event, Sands China collaborated with local social service organization Noah Family Mutual Aid Association to establish a charity stall. It showcased racing-themed cultural and creative products designed by the association’s members, with proceeds supporting mental health and values education programs for youth and those in need. Since its establishment in 2014, the association has actively served the community. This collaboration not only enhances social participation for disadvantaged groups but also allows more young people to experience the passion and hope of international sporting events through their involvement.

Furthermore, on 15 November, Sands China specially invited parents and children from the Macau IN Volunteer Group to watch the race accompanied by Sands Care Ambassadors, experiencing the electrifying atmosphere up close from the grandstands. The event not only fostered family bonding but also exemplified the community integration and harmonious development principles championed by the company’s “Sands Cares” corporate citizenship program.

Fully supporting the development of “Tourism + Sports”

“Our support of the event is aimed at propelling the diversified development of Macau’s integrated tourism and leisure industry and advancing the integration of ‘Tourism + Sports,’ in line with the government’s policy. To further support and promote this annual sports extravaganza, we presented game booths along with activities that fostered family interaction at The Venetian Macao. We also held a series of community events to let residents and visitors gain knowledge and learn about the culture of motorsport, enriching their cultural and leisure experiences and making this November a fruitful one with mega events.”

Dr Wong added, “We will continue to leverage our resources to bring the underprivileged and our local community partners to join us in these spectacular events, contributing to Macau’s endeavors as a ‘City of Events’ and a World Centre of Tourism and Leisure.”

Continuing support for development of sports and cultural industries
Over the past two decades, Sands China has actively introduced a series of events encompassing culture, tourism, and sports. Since 2007, the company has sponsored, hosted, or organised multiple large-scale sporting events, such as The NBA China Games, demonstrating the company’s commitment to promote the development of sports and the integration of sports tourism. Sands China often utilises the opportunities presented by these competitions and exhibition games to host auxiliary events like youth clinics and community-focused events to engage further with the community and maximise the events’ positive impact on the city.
