The U18 Youth Career and Leadership Development Programme Leadership Recognition Ceremony and 2025 Programme Launch Ceremony, organized by Wynn Care and the Macau Women’s General Association, was held at Wynn Palace on 8 June.
The event attracted nearly 100 local young people – representatives from various professional fields, schools and social service organizations – who witnessed the achievements of the 2024 participants and the launch of the new program.
During the ceremony, members of the organizing committee delivered speeches in which they shared the program’s achievements and encouraged the participants. Forty high school students who completed the 2024 program were awarded certificates and individual awards in recognition of their outstanding performance in career planning, leadership and social participation.
The U18 program has been held for four years and has trained more than 200 young leaders since its inception. This year’s conference specially appointed 20 outstanding alumni to join the organizing committee to facilitate the transmission of experience.
During the launch ceremony, representatives of the 2024 participants formally handed over the program flag to the new participants, symbolizing the passing on of the program’ spirit. The new participants then made their collective debut and posed for photos with guests, creating a warm atmosphere.
Linda Chen, President, Vice Chairman and Executive Director of Wynn Macau Limited, gave an address in which she encouraged participants to pursue their dreams.
“President Xi Jinping has always been concerned about the growth of young people in Macau,” she said. “During his visit to Macau last year, he affectionately urged young people in Macau to become ‘a vital force in building Macau and the country’.
“As an international enterprise deeply rooted in China and Macau, Wynn has always been committed to providing young people with a broad platform for growth, cultivating outstanding talent and helping them seize development opportunities.”
This year’s U18 program will place greater emphasis on the holistic development of young people. Participants will have the opportunity to visit Hengqin and experience firsthand the pulse of national development. The program will also collaborate with the Judiciary Police to integrate crime prevention and fraud awareness into the curriculum, fostering participants’ sense of social responsibility and civic consciousness to jointly safeguard national security.
In a speech, Grace Wong, Member of the Legislative Assembly of Macau and Vice President of the Macau Women’s General Association, mentioned that the Association has always adhered to the principle of “caring for women and children and serving the community”, actively paying attention to the growth of children and young people and carrying out various activities and training programs in line with the policy objectives of the Macao SAR Government.
The 2024 program will cover career planning and diverse social issues, with a particular focus on career guidance. Participants will have the opportunity to take part in the “Wynn Experience Day” to visit the working environment of the integrated resort and learn about the development prospects of non-gaming elements.
As one of the first “Healthy Enterprises” in Macau, Wynn fully leverages the resource advantages of its integrated resort to provide participants with support for physical and mental health development, including professional social worker sharing sessions and health management activities to help them face future challenges with a positive mindset.
The program also integrates the company’s extensive experience in cultural arts, sports events and community tourism to design practical interactive courses, enabling participants to gain a deeper understanding of Macau’s “tourism+” diversified economic development.
