- GEG has teamed up with the Fishermen’s Mutual Help Association to launch the GEG Sea Cruise once again in 2025.
- The 2025 GEG Sea Cruise is running every Saturday from 21 June to 26 July.
To promote the development of maritime tourism in Macau, Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) has once again launched its annual special event, “2025 GEG Sea Cruise – The Joyful Fishing Journey”, running every Saturday from 21 June until 26 July in partnership with the Fishermen’s Mutual Help Association to promote Macau’s fishing culture and maritime tourism resources.
The first public GEG Sea Cruise Tour set sail on 21 June with 20 local residents and tourists on board. At 10.30am, the boat departed from the A-Ma Pier on schedule, passing through Portas do Entendimento, Typa Entrance, Sai Van Bridge, Governor Nobre de Carvalho Bridge, and GEG’s flagship property Galaxy Macau before arriving at Coloane Pier. The journey took approximately one hour.
During the trip, Chan Meng Kam, Vice President of the Fishermen’s Mutual Help Association, and members introduced the history of A-Ma Temple and other sights along the route to participants, giving them a deeper understanding of Macau’s marine culture and urban development.
Upon arrival at Coloane Pier, participants proceeded to the Lai Chi Vun Shipyards, which is being revitalized by GEG in partnership with the Macao SAR Government and underwent enhancement and upgrading works at the end of last year. There they participated in a variety of activities, including a fishing net weaving workshop and a performance of “Saltwater Songs” – one of Macau’s intangible cultural heritage items. These activities aimed to deepen participants’ understanding of Macau’s fishing traditions and cultural history while supporting the sustainable development of the local fishing industry.
GEG first launched the “GEG Sea Cruises” in 2023 to promote Macau’s development as a “World Centre of Tourism and Leisure” and support the SAR Government’s policy of diversified development while showcasing Macau’s urban culture and coastal scenery. Last year, GEG partnered with the Fishermen’s Mutual Help Association for the first time to combine sea cruises with fishing culture. This year, GEG extended the tour and connecting to the Lai Chi Vun Shipyards, which has a historical background in the shipbuilding industry, allowing visitors to learn about the history and techniques of traditional fishing and providing participants with a unique experience.
