  • The collaboration integrated community engagement with inclusive employment as part of Fuhong’s Gift Pack Community Sharing Programme.

A team of 200 volunteers – including Sands Cares Ambassadors and members of the Fuhong Society of Macau – joined forces at Fuhong Society’s Pou Lei Centre to assemble 2,600 festive gift packs, putting their dedication to community service into action.

All gift packs were distributed ahead of International Children’s Day to 66 local child service institutions and residential homes across Macau, bringing warmth and joy to children during the festival.

The collaboration forms part of Fuhong’s Gift Pack Community Sharing Programme, integrating community engagement with inclusive employment. Members of the center earned income by assembling the gift packs, supported by Sands Cares Ambassadors who worked alongside them. Each gift pack, purchased by Sands China, contained a drawing kit, snacks and a phone clip handmade by Fuhong members.

On the same day, Sands China donated MOP 259,750 to Fuhong Society of Macau to further support the program, with Catherine Kong, Vice President of Corporate Communications and Community Affairs at Sands China, presenting the cheque to Jennifer Chau, Director General of the Fuhong Society of Macau.

Dr Wilfred Wong, Executive Vice Chairman of Sands China, highlighted the long-standing partnership with Fuhong, noting the company’s commitment to social inclusion and empowerment for people with disabilities. Since 2006, the initiative has distributed over 98,000 gift packs to children during festive periods.

Jennifer Chau expressed gratitude for Sands China’s 21 years of support, emphasizing the partnership’s dual impact – providing both income and community engagement for members.

Sands China said it plans to continue its support with further gift pack distributions during the Christmas season.
