Galaxy Entertainment Group (GEG) and Macau Special Olympics (MSO) will further expand the community outreach scope of the “GEG Run with a Partner Training Program” to celebrate its fifth anniversary this year.

A launch ceremony was held recently to share the achievements of the program over the past five years and to welcome newcomers, as well as to join hands with MSO to promote the spirit of inclusion in sports.

The launch ceremony held at Broadway Macau saw a number of guests invited to attend, including Chen Jian, Level II Division Rank Official of the Department of Social Affairs of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Macau SAR; Leong Sun Iok, Member of the Legislative Assembly; and Annie Loi, Assistant Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility of Public Relations of GEG.

At the ceremony, the organizer played a video review of previous years of the “GEG Run with a Partner Training Program”. In his speech, Siu Yu Hong, National Director of MSO, said, “We appreciate GEG’s continued support for MSO and the joint launch of the ‘GEG Run with a Partner Training Program’ in 2021.”

“Over the past five years, many MSO athletes have surpassed their limits and successfully completed marathon events thanks to the encouragement and companionship of GEG Runner’s Club members. The program has certainly helped our athletes build greater confidence and courage.”

Starting in 2021, GEG and MSO have jointly organized the “GEG Run with a Partner Training Program” whereby GEG organizes and MSO athletes participate in regular long-distance running, training and sports events.

This year, GEG and MSO have further expanded the community outreach scale of the program by visiting schools, social service organizations and the back-of-house areas of GEG’s properties to introduce the program to about 1,500 students, teachers, members and service users of social service organizations, as well as GEG team members.
