Hosted by the Asian Film Awards Academy, International Film Camp (IFC) 2025 officially announced its eight winning short film projects at its closing ceremony and awards presentation at The Londoner Macao on September 15.

International Film Camp 2025 was organised by the Asian Film Awards Academy with the patronage of the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau of the Hong Kong SAR Government and the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, and sponsored by the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (CCIDAHK), the Film Development Fund (FDF) of the Hong Kong SAR Government, and Sands China Ltd., with Shaw Studios as the official post-production partner.
Held at The Venetian Macao from 11 to 15 September, this year’s IFC attracted 18 young creators from eight Asian countries and regions including mainland China, Macau, Hong Kong, South Korea, Vietnam, Bangladesh, India and Kyrgyzstan. Participants developed short film projects themed “My Best Friend” through masterclasses, seminars and one-on-one mentoring.

Ultimately, the jury selected eight producers, each receiving HK$300,000 in funding. The Asian Film Awards Academy will recommend these projects for international film festivals, while Shaw Studios will provide professional post-production support for the selected works.
During the closing ceremony and awards presentation, Dr Wilfred Wong, Chairman of the Asian Film Awards Academy, said, “18 young filmmakers from eight Asian countries and regions gave their all in this year’s camp, competing for the eight production grants that will help bring their short film projects to life as they demonstrated remarkable talent and determination. The knowledge, experience, and connections gained throughout the process will serve as vital nourishment for their creative journeys ahead.”

Grant Chum, CEO and Executive Director of Sands China Ltd, remarked, “Sands China has partnered with the Asian Film Awards Academy for two consecutive years, bringing Hong Kong and Macau together to host International Film Camp. We have invited outstanding film professionals from around the world to provide guidance to participants from various Asian countries and regions, contributing to Macau’s development as a film production hub.”
Sands China’s sponsorship of IFC 2025 aligns with its commitment to support the development of diverse artistic talent under the Macao SAR government’s strategy for moderate diversification, as well as the ‘tourism+’ and ‘culture+’ initiatives.
