Sands China Ltd. recently held its Because We Care Team Member Annual Awards Ceremony 2025 at The Londoner Macao, presenting awards to 100 outstanding individuals and teams in recognition of their exceptional performance and commitment to the company’s Because We Care service culture.
Launched in 2013, the annual awards honor team members who embody the four Because We Care values: We Are Friendly, We Are Professional, We Are Active Listeners, and We Are One Team. Each year, the awards celebrate stories of genuine care and commitment that inspire colleagues across the company.
Grant Chum, CEO and Executive Director of Sands China Ltd., said, “A strong and exceptional 27,000-member team is the key to our success.
“Together, we continue to embody our Because We Care service philosophy, strengthen our team spirit and uphold our commitment to excellent service – solidifying Macau’s position as a World Centre of Tourism and Leisure.”
The 2025 awards received 642 nomination submissions across 26 departments. Over six months, Sands China’s more than 27,000 team members read the nominees’ stories and selected their favorites through an internal platform, generating more than 100,000 responses. A judging committee then selected the top 100 finalists to compete in nine award categories.
At the ceremony, Sands China’s Executive Vice Chairman Dr Wilfred Wong joined Chum in presenting certificates to the top 100 nominees on stage. Winners received trophies, cash prizes and other rewards with a total value of over MOP 900,000. More than 900 team members attended the event to celebrate the achievements of their colleagues.
