Macau’s first rooftop skatepark, the “Studio City Sk8te Park” – developed by Melco Resorts & Entertainment – officially opened in late March.

Designed and constructed by the internationally acclaimed Hurricane Parks team, the facility integrates elements of street and park skateboarding within a setting that reflects Macau’s unique urban landscape and cultural identity. The venue offers a challenging yet artistic environment for skateboarding, freestyle BMX, stunt scooters and inline skating, catering to athletes of all skill levels.

To celebrate the launch, Melco also hosted the inaugural “Studio City Sk8Fest” alongside the Greater Bay Area’s first international skateboarding competition: “Melco Style Presents: 2025 FISE Battle of the Champions – Macau”. Included in the program of events of “Culture City of East Asia 2025 – Macao, China”, the event drew top-tier skateboarders and enthusiasts from around the world.

“Studio City Sk8Fest” featured standout performances from Japanese skateboarding prodigy Kai Kishi, Macau’s rising star Nathaniel Wong and international skater Jasper Dohrs. The two-day program included BMX demonstrations, trick contests, graffiti art workshops, breakdancing shows, beginner skate classes and live DJ performances, attracting large crowds of residents and tourists and generating a vibrant, festival-like atmosphere.

Meanwhile, the “2025 FISE Battle of the Champions – Macau” took place inside the Studio City Event Center. As a major event on the FISE street skateboarding circuit, the competition brought together elite athletes from around the world, including the Greater Bay Area, offering spectators a world-class international sports experience.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Kevin Benning, Senior Vice President and Property General Manager of Studio City, affirmed Melco’s long-standing support for the Macau SAR Government’s policy of economic diversification and its “Tourism+” development strategy. The launch of the Studio City Sk8te Park, he noted, demonstrates the company’s ongoing commitment to contributing to the city’s growth.
