Sands China hosts third Responsible Gaming Parent-Child Happy Carnival

  • Sands held the third Sands China Responsible Gaming Parent-Child Happy Carnival at The Londoner Macao.
  • Approximately 160 employees and members of local NGOs participated in the event with their children.

On 23 August, the third Sands China Responsible Gaming Parent-Child Happy Carnival was held at The Londoner Macao, highlighting the company’s commitment to supporting the SAR Government’s promotion of responsible gaming.

Approximately 160 employees and members of local NGOs participated with their children. Through games and interactive experiences, the event cultivated childrens’ financial literacy habits, allowing parents and children to share family fun while learning.

Sands China has co-organized this event with five local NGOs since 2023. This year’s carnival featured 12 engaging activities aligned with the SAR Government’s responsible gaming theme “Seeking Help for Winning the Future” – emphasizing the importance of parents and children jointly developing sound financial management principles.

Dr Wilfred Wong, Executive Vice Chairman of Sands China Ltd, remarked in his address, “As Macau’s first responsible gaming-themed carnival, this event has now been held for three consecutive years. It aims to assist children in learning through play, understanding the importance of establishing spending habits, saving and rational decision-making, thereby promoting the concept of ‘Passing Down Financial Management Wisdom to the Next Generation’.”

He further noted that only through continuous education and prevention can the principles of responsible gaming permeate every corner of the community, thereby fostering the healthy and sustainable development of Macau’s gaming industry.

Sands China team members have long recognized the importance of responsible gaming in the Macau community. Sands China was the first gaming operator in Macau to launch a self-exclusion program in 2004 and was a pioneer in including responsible gaming training in its team member orientation program.

Sands China established its comprehensive responsible gaming program in 2007 with the goal of contributing to the continuous development of the Macau community, bearing corporate responsibility in addressing social issues and developing an environment and a culture of responsible gaming in Macau.
