Organized by MGM and co-organized by the Macao Illustrators Association, the “Festival of Wishing Star” Christmas and New Year celebrations officially kicked off on 18 December in the Barra District.

This 12-day event brings together nearly 40 local brands and SMEs under the theme of “Authentic Macau Living”. Featuring a vibrant mix of themed markets, gourmet food, coffee, local creative IPs, exhibitions and interactive experiences, the festival aims to connect the community, culture and lifestyle. It revives the warm and nostalgic charm of Macau’s traditional neighborhoods, creating a unique winter carnival filled with local character for residents and tourists alike.
Timed to coincide with the festive Christmas and New Year holidays, the Barra District is transformed into a winter hotspot brimming with holiday vibes. To enhance the festive atmosphere, scheduled snowfall effects create an immersive and interactive artistic walking route that is perfect for capturing moments, engaging with the surroundings and savoring the spirit of the season.

To add an extra spark to the festivities, the event also offers a series of limited-time programs, such as outdoor movie screenings, family and pet obstacle courses and a car show, making it an ideal destination for family fun.

Meanwhile, the thematic exhibition “Decade – Exhibition of Macao Illustrators” is also being held at Navy Yard No.1, running until 11 January 2026. This exhibition reflects on a decade of creative growth among Macau’s illustrators, showcasing their development and international collaborative achievements. It highlights the diverse facets of Macau’s creative industry and includes multiple sharing sessions, exploring the application of illustration in commercial and cultural contexts.
Visitors can immerse themselves in the artistic charm of “Macau Streets – Little People, Big Stories” while experiencing the local art scene in this festive setting.
