For the fourth consecutive year, SJM Resorts, S.A. joined hands with the Sports Bureau of the Macao SAR Government and the Dragon Boat Association of Macao, China to present the annual “SJM Macao International Dragon Boat Races.” To maximize the synergy of a major sporting event, the “2026 SJM Macao International Dragon Boat Races Carnival” was held at the Nam Van Lake waterfront on 13 and 14 June, continuing on 19 June.

Through the cross-sector integration of “Sports + Cultural Tourism,” SJM partnered with local SMEs to extend the festive spirit into the community, showcasing a summer celebration that blended tradition with modernity.
During the carnival, over 20 booths featuring local creators and retailers showcased Macau-themed crafts and dragon boat souvenirs. On display were handmade goods from local charities like the Macau Special Olympics, Sheng Kung Hui Macau Social Services Coordination Office and Tung Sin Tong.

To beat the summer heat, food stalls served up local favorites, including snacks, handmade teas and refreshing summer treats – including traditional handmade dragon’s beard candy, a Macau Intangible Cultural Heritage gem.
The carnival provides plenty of interactive fun for all ages, with a series of classic booth games including ring toss and bean bag tosses. The carnival also featured clowns with balloons, magic shows, 3D inflatables and interactive parades. Local university and high school students also performed street music combining guitar, singing and percussion.

The highlight was the Dragon Boat Festival parade at Nam Van Lake, where drumbeats, dragon banners and dance combined heritage with modern flair for a lively show.
