42nd Macao Green Week starts at Taipa Houses on 18 March

To raise public awareness about the green resources of Macao and promote “World Planting Day” the Municipal Affairs Bureau of Macao (IAM) will continue to hold “Macao Green Week” this year, with more than 30 related events to be held from 18 to 26 March.

This year sees the 42nd edition of Macao Green Week. The event theme for 2023 is “Passing on the love of nature to build a beautiful city together”.

According to IAM, a carnival will be held on the opening day, and there will be a number of themed and game booths to introduce information about local tree species, as well as ancient and famous trees in Macau. The ever-popular tree planting activity of Green Week will be held in Seac Pai Van Park on March 26, where participants will plant seedlings.

IAM said, “We hope that Green Week will allow residents to understand Macau’s green space resources, the challenges of tree care and the achievements of ecological conservation as well as the functions and daily work of various landscaping departments, so that the public can get more involved with nature conservation work.”
