MCYVDA continues to organize “Rainbow Life” food donation event

Macao Community Youth Volunteers Development Association (MCYVA), a Macau CSR strategic partner, has been organising the “Rainbow Life” series of activities since 2011. This year the series of activities will be held in August. With the aim of providing help to disadvantaged groups and promoting awareness of cherished food resources to the general public, food donation will be part of this activity series, and collection points will be set up in various districts across Macau.

The “Rainbow Life” series of activities is sponsored by the Education and Youth Development Bureau. This year’s 12th anniversary of the series will see the organizer hold a “Whole Heart-Food Donation Day” on 20 August, with the hope of successfully recruiting 40 volunteers to promote the spirit of helping others. Other activities include food recycling and improving the development and overall quality of life of young people.

Food donation collections will be carried out in various districts of Macau, helping to collect packaged food with an expiration date of at least three months into the future. The food collected will be donated to the users of the “Peng On Tung” call-out service center.

Last year, the food donation event successfully collected more than 500 packages of food. For those interested in taking part in the “2023 Rainbow Life” series of activities, please click here to register.
