Melco hosts business matching session to bolster local tech start-ups and SMEs

  • Melco hosted a dedicated business matching event with certified technology enterprises.
  • The event built a direct communication platform between participants and Melco’s procurement team to explore and develop collaborative opportunities.

In late October, Melco Resorts & Entertainment teamed up with the Macao Young Entrepreneur Incubation Centre (MYEIC) to organize the “Melco Resorts & Entertainment and Certified Tech Enterprises Business Matching Event” at Studio City. Themed “Empowering Youth Entrepreneurship”, the event drew participation from over 20 local certified tech enterprises and members of the MYEIC.

During the event, three selected SMEs had the opportunity to present their products to Melco’s procurement team and other attendees. The session was designed for Melco to deepen its understanding of emerging technologies within the IT sector and to explore potential practical applications of products and services from tech start-ups and SME representatives. Melco said it anticipates that such interactions will foster long-term and mutually beneficial partnerships.

Clarence Chung, Melco Board Director, emphasized the company’s commitment to fostering a thriving community by prioritizing local suppliers and promoting Macau’s economic vitality.

“This business matching meeting not only established a platform for innovation and technology start-ups and SMEs to showcase their products and gain insights into market needs, allowing them to gain an in-depth understanding of Melco’s future projects and procurement requirements, but further broadens cooperative pathways between both sides,” he said.

“We believe that through joint efforts, we can together contribute to Macau’s sustainable economic development.”

Melco reaffirmed its alignment with the SAR government’s policy directions, actively implementing the “leading smaller businesses with the large” business model. The company aims to utilize its strengths to champion the growth of local SMEs, thereby encouraging a diversified economic landscape in Macau. By facilitating direct communication between its procurement team and potential IT suppliers, Melco is identifying and nurturing new partnerships that could drive forward Macau’s technological and economic development.
