“2025 GEG Lusofonia Festival” gets underway, promoting Sino-Portuguese Cultural Exchange

  • GEG and the Cultural Affairs Bureau are jointly organizing the “2025 GEG Lusofonia Festival”.
  • Supporting the event for the third consecutive year, GEG will also organize the “GEG Traditional Music and Dance Performance in the Community” at Galaxy Macau.

The annual cultural event “2025 GEG Lusofonia Festival”, jointly organized by Cultural Affairs Bureau and GEG, kicked off on 24 October at the Taipa Houses. The event, taking place over two consecutive weekends from 24 to 26 October and 31 October to 2 November, offered a series of Sino-Portuguese cultural experiences with a blend of music, food and art.

GEG is supporting the event for the third consecutive year. The event is once again held in parallel with the 7th “Encounter in Macao – Arts and Cultural Festival between China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries”. During this period, the “GEG Traditional Music and Dance Performance in the Community” presents 14 ebullient and culturally distinctive performances at Galaxy Macau’s Diamond Lobby, Crystal Lobby and local communities, featuring performances by artistic teams from the mainland and Portuguese-speaking countries, allowing the public to experience the rich Sino-Portuguese artistic atmosphere.

In addition, the Opening Night Screening of “China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries Film Festival” will be held at Galaxy Cinemas on 14 November, featuring with the Chinese comedy “Green Wave”, presenting a cultural feast of light and shadow to the audience.

“As one of the most representative Portuguese-language cultural events in Macau, the Lusofonia Festival combines singing, dancing, games, gourmet food and the characteristics of Portuguese-speaking countries to showcase the unique charm of Macau’s Sino-Portuguese cultural fusion,” said Buddy Lam, Director of Corporate Affairs of GEG. ”

“We believe that through the series of events, we can effectively create synergy to promote Macau’s unique cultural characteristics and showcase the diversified appeal of ‘Tourism + Culture’. ”

Through a series of cultural programs, GEG hopes to further promote Sino-Portuguese cultural exchanges, enrich the diversified contents of Macau’s tourism and promote community interaction through cultural links, so as to jointly promote the construction of Macau as the ‘Cultural Exchange Centre between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries’.
