Jointly organized by Wynn and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), the 10-day “Wynn x UNLV Student Exchange Programme 2025” concluded on 24 June.
Through a series of study and research activities, 12 UNLV students gained a deeper understanding of Macau’s integrated resort industry and its unique value as a crossroads of Chinese and Western cultures, thereby contributing to Macau’s role as an international exchange platform.
The closing ceremony was held at the United Nations University Institute in Macau, with attendees including representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in Macao and the Education and Youth Development Bureau.
Linda Chen, President, Vice Chairman and Executive Director of Wynn Macau, Limited, stated, “Wynn hopes that this exchange program provides American youth with an opportunity to come and experience what Macau and China have to offer.
“Let American youth deeply appreciate the brilliance of Macau culture and the city’s long-term development as ‘One Center, One Platform, One Base.’ In doing so, they can promote and share Macau to the world as a culturally rich and diverse city.”
Over the 10-day program, UNLV students participated in a variety of cultural experiences led by the Wynn team, including an interactive cultural workshop on Rua da Felicidade, where they experienced tea culture, calligraphy art and traditional Chinese attire. Additionally, they learned to make “Macanese Lapa” (sticky rice dumplings), enjoyed Portuguese folk dances and visited a creative market, immersing themselves in Macau’s unique charm of diverse coexistence.
Furthermore, UNLV students joined participants from the Wynn U18 Youth Career Leadership Programme in a dragon dance experience, learning dragon dance techniques under the guidance of professional instructors. This activity highlighted the importance of teamwork and showcased Macau’s distinctive feature of Chinese culture harmoniously coexisting with other cultural influences.
