The tour brought together 20 local food industry SMEs – ranging from established manufacturers to popular brands, many holding Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) food safety and “M Mark” certifications – for in-depth visits to benchmark enterprises across the Greater Bay Area. Highlights included stops at Mi Liang Ren Liang’s logistics base (a Jiumaojiu Group subsidiary), Guangdong Houchu Food’s ready-meal production line, Haoling Creative Packaging’s facility and Olson Food Company’s modern bakery operations (October Fifth Bakery). The delegation was welcomed by local government officials, who engaged in discussions on industrial synergy and collaboration, culminating in a visit to Jiangmen’s Premium Products Experience Store.

Simon Leong, Assistant Vice President of Purchasing at MGM, noted that SMEs account for 35% of the company’s total procurement. He expressed hope that the exchange would help Macau’s food sector innovate and upgrade, providing SMEs with valuable insights into the latest trends and technologies.

“Through this exchange tour, we aim to stimulate innovation and upgrading within Macau’s food sector while fostering more favorable conditions for SME development,” he said.

Since 2021, MGM has championed food safety and professional training, supporting local enterprises in achieving “M Mark” certification and partnering with industry bodies to offer advanced HACCP training. By investing in talent and quality standards, MGM is helping build a resilient, modern food industry, ensuring Macau’s SMEs stay competitive in a rapidly evolving market.
