Poly MGM Museum, the new cultural and tourism landmark under MGM Macau, held an “Intangible Cultural Heritage Conversation Series” sharing session over three consecutive months, starting in June. The event invited experts and cultural relic restoration masters to give lectures, aiming to raise public awareness and interest in intangible cultural heritage skills.
The sharing sessions focused on three intangible cultural heritage techniques: cloisonné , Guangcai porcelain and pith painting. The speakers included a national-level representative inheritor of intangible cultural heritage craft, Palace Art Specialized Committee delegates, a master artisan and a restoration expert. The event attracted nearly 600 participants from local museums, educational institutions, cultural associations and industry professionals, receiving a warm response.
In addition, the keynote speakers engaged in thematic exchanges with museum guides to deepen their professional knowledge and further enrich MGM’s cultural and tourism experience.
MGM noted that it has long been committed to promoting the inheritance and innovation of intangible cultural heritage through lion dance performances, intangible cultural heritage workshops and community cooperation activities, integrating intangible cultural heritage skills into the lives of citizens. By doing so, MGM looks to bring these traditional cultures into everyday life, integrating them into communities
As a world-class cultural and tourism landmark showcasing China’s excellent traditional culture and intangible cultural heritage skills, the Poly MGM Museum continues to host diverse cultural activities, actively supporting Macau’s development as “a base for exchange and cooperation where Chinese culture is the mainstream and diverse cultures coexist”, and serving as a vital platform for cultural promotion and exchange.
In the future, MGM would continue to uphold the philosophy of “art of living”, leveraging the Poly MGM Museum and “Fantasy Box” exhibition spaces to encourage the public to explore the charm of diverse cultures and build new platforms for cross-border exchanges.
