Local School Organizes Parent-Child Experience Activities to Enhance Home-School Cooperation

Escola Sha Li Tau Fang recently launched the “Sha Fang Parent-Child Experience Learning Activity”, allowing parents and students to participate in activities together. The activities allow parents to understand their children’s learning and life at the school and enhance the emotional communication between parents and children.

During the event, the school first let parents do physical activities such as passing a ball and doing hoops to let parents know what students do during the “Sunshine Hour” course at school. Then the parents visited the fish and vegetable symbiosis area of the school, and the students and teachers of the aquaponics group introduced the principle of aquaponics, so that parents can further understand the educational significance of life, science and sustainable development education.

While the parents were visiting the campus and observing classes, the head teacher led the students to harvest the lettuce that they had planted more than two months earlier, cook it with the teacher, and serve the dishes to their parents to enjoy. The aim is to allow parents to understand the growth and school experiences of students.

After the event, one parent said, “The children’s interest in learning has increased and their ability to solve problems and learn has also been cultivated by accepting tasks, making things by themselves, and exploring independently.

“I hope that the school will have more experiential activities to promote home-school cooperation in the future, which will not only strengthen the close communication between home and school, but also help parents understand the school better, and cultivate parent-child relationships.”
