The Family Service Center of the Women’s General Association recently held the “2023 Parent-Child Volunteer Training” and “Moral Theme Education Training” programs to train parents to pass on positive moral values to their children, and to accompany the growth journey of their children through the practice of volunteer services.
The two training courses were held on the fifth floor of the association service center, with 43 pairs of parents and children attended the first training session. Participants played various team games in groups to promote mutual understanding between parents and children and to cultivate the cooperative nature of parent-child volunteers and team unity.
Another moral-themed education training class was attended by 48 pairs parents and children, with the organizer sharing the connection between moral education and sex education. The aim was for parents to understand that sex education relates to education of love and morality. Story books were used for children to learn to protect themselves and prevent sexual assault.
The Women’s Association pointed out that the association’s annual volunteer activities include social resources, community visits, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day community care activities, sex education community promotion activities and more. Participants of the Association’s annual volunteer activities consisted of a total 37 families, in which 110 parents and children aged 5 to 12 to participated in the volunteer services.
A Women’s Association representative said, “Parents are expected to pass on correct moral values to their children in the form of teaching by example, and to accompany their children to grow together by practicing different volunteer services.”
