“Treasures of Macau” Watercolor Exhibition launched

The Rui Cunha Foundation, a Macau CSR strategic partner, launched the “Treasures of Macau” watercolor exhibition last week. All the artwork on display was created by Portuguese architect and painter Vasco d’Orey Bobone.

The exhibition showcases 39 watercolor paintings and marks the first time the Rui Cunha Foundation Gallery has exhibited the entire personal collection of the artist’s paintings acquired by Dr Rui Cunha, the founder of the Foundation. This exhibition also marks the 11th anniversary of the establishment of the Rui Cunha Foundation.

D’Orey Bobone was born in 1944, graduated with a major in architecture and studied painting and art history in Italy. His outstanding watercolor paintings have led to solo exhibitions in Portugal and further afield, with his works published in several books. Looking back at the evolution of Macau, he said, “In my memory, I deeply understand how Macau evolved. I would say that it is magical. The beauty resulting from the history and culture. In the atmosphere of fusion, I really benefited a lot, and at the same time found inspiration for creation.”
