Since 2021 the Labor Affairs Bureau has launched eight internship career experience programs in mainland China to support Macau SAR government “1+4” diversified strategy and cultivate more talent for various industries. This program covers a range of different industries including internet technology, cross-border e-commerce, smart manufacturing, fintech, e-sports and other diversified fields.
During past three years, DSAL has been cooperating with local enterprises to launch an apprenticeship program named “Creating Better Job Perspectives” which targets young people in Macau, and has created 710 jobs with 503 young people successfully employed.
The Labor Affairs Bureau said, “We continue to optimize the internship program by increasing the number of participants through increasing the number of organizations participating and introducing a wider range of industries year by year.
“The Labor Affairs Bureau continues to pay close attention to the employment needs of young people in Macau, launching diversified apprenticeship programs and offering employment support measures to expand the employment opportunities for young people and retain the talent required for diversification development in Macau.”
