Sponsored by the Macau Foundation and hosted by the Youth Association of People, the 2023 Talent Development Program – Youth Participatory Governance Course has been launched and will be held from 16 September to 25 November 2023.

The course covers topics related to Macau’s Basic Law, Constitution, national security and international situation, political etiquette, functions of the Legislative Council, current affairs analysis, media influence and expression skills. Senior legislators, government officials, university professors and other professionals have been invited as tutors.

The Association explained that the purpose of launching this course was to “enhance the political deliberation ability of local youth and broaden their perspective, while guiding them to understand the development of national policies. It also aims to enhance their understanding and awareness of government’s policies, current affairs and future planning and development, and encourages them to actively provide suggestions and proposals.”

This year marks the sixth year of the course, through which the Association strives to enhance local youths’ sense of belonging to Macau society and their sense of responsibility in serving the society. By promoting a greater understanding of public policies and government administration, the youth generation’s sense of responsibility and belonging to the Macau SAR can be strengthened.
